Johnny Ortiz grew up in San Antonio, TX. and relocated to Denver, CO in 2015 to further his education at the University of Denver. During his time in school and after graduation, Johnny discovered his talents for DJing and music production, and continues to pursue this passion under the SHLVBS project.

Johnny's love for music began when as a child he immersed himself in the dirty south hip-hop culture listening to the likes of Three 6 Mafia, Lil John, and Crime Mob. Growing up he expanded his taste in music by developing an interest for mainstream rap music and electronic dance music. He began going to EDM shows in high school and fell in love with the genre, which sparked his interest in pursing a career as an artist himself.

Since beginning as SHLVBS in 2015,  Johnny has booked local shows at venues such as Your Mom's House, The Black Box, and Gaslamp. SHLVBS brings with him dubstep, trap, and a blend of hip hop in both his music and performances. I promise you this isn't something you'd want to miss out on!
